Another amazing stay with "Stay a while" at Mount Maunganui. The Hidden Gem offered everything we needed: -2 minutes walk to the beach – Nice, sunny & quiet garden area – great outdoor furniture – super clean house – spacious bathroom – super comfortable & big beds – love how pet friendly this property is – kitchen has everything you need – warm outdoor shower Our Host Karen was exceptional as always! Warm welcoming and great introduction to the property. Easy to get hold of should you need anything.
Impeccably clean. No ‘precious objects’ adorning the place that my kids would break. Dog friendly (my dog isn’t a jumper but the fence wouldn’t keep a younger dog in - perfect for us). Short, flat walk to the beach. Owners have thought of everything you would need - even some beach toys for kids to use while we were there. Warm outside shower. Stove could use a range hood but I can’t think of anything else I’d change. Loved it. Will be back.
Loved our week long stay here! A perfect set-up in a perfect location. The backyard and outside area is so peaceful to relax in at the end of a long beach day - and the outside (hot) shower… what a treat!!!! Great coffee, and beach access all a walk away and we even chose to visit’s some of the sites suggested in the property compendium like the Kaiate waterfalls (spectacular). Thank you for a great stay.
A great stay in a real good house. Very spacious living area, where the hole family could sit and relax. Very good communication with Karen in regards, to the house works, and letting us in on arrival. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival, and the location of the house meant only a short walk to the beach and shops. As a family of 6, we had a very good stay , and recommend this house as a holiday destination.

A truly wonderful experience and holiday home to share with the family and Ted (Shih tzu/poodle). The 2 lounges make it an easy option for giving the teens their own space. Our home from home experience made it easy and relaxing with that added extra luxury. A dogs haven with an enclosed secure garden of which was beautifully planted and maintained. A short walk to Bayfair and TimeZone a 10 minute drive to downtown Mount gives you a convenient distance away from the hustle and bustle, just perfect! We can’t wait to return for our next trip.

Fantastic communication from the s property manager was a great start to our stay. The house is immaculate and thoughtfully provisioned with the little extras like laundry powder. Great indoor outdoor flow and so handy to the beach! Excellent location with a dairy and restaurant just over the road too. Fully fenced section meant we had no worries letting the kids play downstairs as we were relaxing on the deck upstairs in the sun. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed for 5 nights in early September 2023. We were very pleased with the quality of the house and the location (150m to the beach, a 2 minute drive to Bayfair shopping mall, and there's a great cafe right across the road). The property was immaculately presented and Karen was super helpful (making sure the heating was turned on prior to our arrival in the evening and assisting us at short notice to arrange a late check out). We would not hesitate to stay at the property again.
This was an outstanding place to stay. We appreciated meeting our delightful host (Karen) who communicated well, was easy to deal with and so very helpful and thorough. The house is absolutely stunning and very well equipped with everything we needed (the kitchen in particular is incredibly well equipped - perfect for our family gathering). The linen was of high quality and the place was lovely and warm with good quality furniture. There is a good ‘indoor/outdoor’ set up which suits visits in all seasons. There were lots of thoughtful and tasteful touches throughout (loved the wall art) - even boogie boards to use. The beach is gorgeous and super close to walk to (beach access just across the road). ‘Special Mention’ cafe is just across the road and is very good. Bayfair shopping centre and Baywave indoor heated pools are both very close by and kept our children entertained during winter days (as well as long walks on the beach collecting shells). We will definitely stay here again!
What a great place to stay. So lovely and quiet. We were so happy to find somewhere that allowed our little puppy to stay too. This house was ideal. The lounge doors opened up onto a private garden (as did the main bedroom) where our puppy (and kids) could Safely run around. The area was completely enclosed. The house had everything we needed. It was lovely and clean. A few minutes drive to the beach and local shops. Great neighbours and a fabulous host. Karen even left a little bag of treats for our puppy with her name on them along with a few poo bags. So thoughtful! We will definitely be back.
This was the perfect place for us during our stay at The Mount. Close to dog-friendly, surfing and swimming beaches, eateries, shops, and activities everything we needed was within an easy to locate distance. The courtyard and the enclosed backyard were great and allowed us to bring our dog along for the holiday too! Everything was super clean and stocked with equipment so we could be self-sufficient and cook our owns meals. Highly recommend for a family vacay!
A really enjoyable stay over 5 nights. Place is extremely modern and has everything that you need, certainly felt like a home away from home. Great location with supermarket and local cafes and restaurants just a 5 minute walk away whilst the beach being 10 minutes and main town only 25 minutes walking, was perfect. Karen’s communication regarding check in and check out was ideal, and the recommendations in the welcome pack were all superb, particularly the fish and chips! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Absolutely amazing place to stay. 4 bedrooms, relaxing lounge, outdoor covered deck with large table and chairs, outdoor heating, fully fenced backyard. Walking distance to the beach and main street, cafes, bars and shops. So beautifully presented. Everything catered for the best private holiday accommodation our family have ever stayed at. We needed a large house for our family for a 3-night stay at Mount Maunganui. After extensive research we landed at Beachside Blue Marine. It is not cheap, but the per-night price is reasonable given the rateable value of the property. The house is set back from the road relative to the two large adjacent houses, but when you are on the deck or (especially) in the lounge you hardly notice this. In fact, this setback helps to reduce the noise from the passing traffic, which is unavoidable for most of the properties along the beach front at Mount Maunganui. Also, there was no noise from the two neighbouring properties during our stay. We were met at the property by the property manager when we arrived, who showed us around and provided us with some useful information about the house. She was very helpful and friendly. There is comprehensive documentation regarding quite strict terms and conditions on the stay a while website, which to me this was a positive aspect since we were wanting to stay somewhere quiet. Moreover, this information shows how much care stay a while take of the properties that they are looking after. If you wanting to stay in a 4/5-bedroom house on Marine Parade with quiet neighbours, who you are in turn happy to be respectful of noise-wise, then I thorough recommend staying at Beachside Blue Marine.
As always, we had such a fantastic stay at the Beachside Blue property. The location is perfect, the house size is great for our adult family, and the storage is fantastic for all the extra toys that seem to make their way on holiday! Going forward, we wouldn't look anywhere else, and we'd hope this is a home we can continue to use for years to come – a very comfortable home away from home!
Thank you for a fabulous stay at this amazing accommodation. We couldn't have asked for a nicer location. The off street parking was such a added bonus plenty of space for all of our cars. Dinner enjoyed outside and morning coffee on the balcony added to a relaxing time. Check-in was super easy and great communication from the host. We will be back.
We had a great 5 days at this property. Directly across the road from the beach, when the weather finally become nice, we made use of the quick walk over with access to great swimming. The house easily catered for our group of 10 and we really enjoyed having a large dining and living room to all get together around. The house also had access to some beach toys which was a nice bonus….shame there was no jet ski:) The booking agents from Stay-a-While were great to deal with. Very accommodating, great communication and very flexible.
Lovely place, especially if you like a quiet neighbourhood that's removed from hustle and bustle, close to the beach. Local shops are close by, for trips to large supermarkets you'll need a car though. Downtown Tauranga is quite a way off, so take that into consideration if you seek quick/easy access to city life. The place has lots of plants, which provide lovely ambience.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely comfortable and clean. Lovely bedding and the bathrooms were modern. It is in an amazing location, with a walkway across the road taking you down to the beach. Communication with the host was seamless and made our stay stress free. Would definitely recommend this home.
Great place to stay. Close to everything we needed and the house was big enough for all the guys. Nice and warm, beds were comfortable and the showers were awesome. Parking was great. Could fit two 6m long trucks and two Utes in the driveway if parked properly and an awesome host as well. Thanks Karen
Great help and instructions from Karen. The place had all the space and more for our long weekend away. Such a delight to grab our surf boards from the garage and just stroll across the road for a surf. Coming back to a shower outside. Also walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. We even did a morning walk to the Mount before brekkie. Can only recommend.
From the time I booked our accommodation to the time we checked out our host Karen was beyond helpful. We given a grand tour of the before she left we also had a minor issue being a tad loud and Karen managed to resolve this quickly and in a very kind and friendly manner for all parties involved. The house was well set up very clean and overall in excellent state. I would highly recommend this place and host to anyone looking to take a group down to the Mount. I would personally like to thank you Karen for your amazing work from start to finish. We will definitely be booking again with you in the future.
This property was perfect for our family gathering. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. There was plenty of room with the two levels and the beds were comfy. A short walk to the beach, short drive to the shops. I would certainly recommend this property for a stay.
Absolutely loved our weekend away at this home. Our family and another family traveled together and the space was perfect to give us all our privacy while also enjoying great and spacious shared spaces. Location is super handy and the little touches like toys for kids and chocolates on the beds won us over the minute we walked through the door. Karen was also an amazing communicator - super accommodating and helpful with any questions or requests. Would love to come back and stay again!
We had a lovely week at Family Tides. House worked incredibly well for our family. Location for beach access is excellent and away from the more crowded central beach. But close enough to the shops and The Mount. Karen our host was extremely attentive and was always on hand to help when we needed it. Excellent communication and super clear instructions. I’d highly recommend this place. Thank you Stay A While for a fantastic and enjoyable stay.
A truly wonderful place for a family holiday. Nice quiet neighbourhood with plenty of green spaces and playgrounds handy. Two separate sitting areas and tvs to keep everyone happy. Full kitchen, double garage and off street parking. Two bathrooms and small covered outdoor patio with BBQ and comfy furniture. Highly recommend for a family holiday with all the comforts of home.
